sweetgreen is hiring a Staff Accountant - Financial Reporting to support SEC reporting and external audit processes. You'll assist in preparing quarterly 10-Qs and annual 10-Ks while ensuring compliance with US GAAP. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a background in public company accounting.
You have a solid background in accounting, particularly in public company accounting, and a strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. Your attention to detail is exceptional, allowing you to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively. You are familiar with the preparation of financial statements and have experience in coordinating audit requests. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to contribute to the success of the accounting team.
Experience with technical accounting research and the implementation of internal controls is a plus. Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements will enhance your ability to support the team effectively.
As a Staff Accountant - Financial Reporting, you will play a crucial role in the preparation of quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K filings, ensuring that all footnote disclosures are accurately drafted and supporting documentation is gathered. You will prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing general ledger accounts to identify necessary accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications. Your support will be vital during external audit processes, where you will compile schedules, provide documentation, and respond to auditor requests promptly. You will collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure that all tasks are completed on time, aligned with weekly and period-end close schedules. Additionally, you will assist with technical accounting research and memoranda for complex transactions or new accounting standards, contributing to the implementation and documentation of internal controls and SOX compliance requirements.
