Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on full stack development. You are adept at designing and implementing software solutions that enhance reliability and efficiency in complex systems. Your technical expertise spans multiple programming languages, including Java and JavaScript, and you are comfortable working across the entire software development lifecycle.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy engaging with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and translate them into effective software solutions. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you approach challenges with enthusiasm and a can-do attitude. You are committed to continuous improvement and are always looking for ways to streamline processes and enhance product quality.

You possess strong leadership qualities and are eager to mentor and support the development of other engineers on your team. You understand the importance of architectural direction and roadmap execution, and you are ready to take on the responsibility of guiding your team towards success.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus, but not a requirement. You are open to learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies as needed. A background in manufacturing processes or quality control can also be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

You will work closely with other engineers to streamline manufacturing quality control processes and simplify new product introductions. Your role will involve optimizing rocket and spacecraft reusability across the Falcon, Dragon, and Starship programs.

You will drive architectural direction and roadmap execution, ensuring that the software you create meets the highest standards of reliability and performance. You will engage with various teams to gather requirements and translate them into actionable software solutions. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the complete lifecycle of the software you develop, from initial design through testing and support.

You will also play a key role in mentoring and supporting the technical and personal development of other engineers on your team. You will foster a collaborative environment where team members feel empowered to share ideas and contribute to the success of the projects.

What we offer

At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven organization that is dedicated to making space exploration a reality. You will have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking technologies and contribute to projects that have a significant impact on the future of humanity.
