⭐ Mission
Join Qonto's Financial Crime team as a AFC Sanctions & Investigations Officer and play a critical role in protecting our growing client base from money laundering and terrorist financing risks. You'll ensure our 600,000 customers operate within a secure, compliant environment by conducting thorough PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screenings across our European markets.

This role requires expertise in sanctions frameworks and regulations, as you'll be directly responsible for complex sanctions screening, risk assessment, and ensuring full compliance with evolving international sanctions regimes.

Working closely with Marina, our Lead AFC Sanctions & Investigations, you'll contribute to maintaining a robust compliance framework that protects Qonto's customers and enables the company to achieve its goal of serving 2M SMEs by 2030.

👩‍💻🧑‍💻 As a Sanctions Screening Analyst at Qonto, you will:
• Screen and investigate alerts from World-Check One and ComplyAdvantage against PEPs, Sanctions Lists, and Adverse Media
• Process transaction screening alerts in a timely manner, making acceptance or refusal decisions in our tooling system
• Maintain detailed documentation of all PEP and Sanctions files, ensuring complete audit trails
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CFT Swift, Fraud, SEPA, Open Banking, AML) to improve processes and maintain seamless operations
• Contribute to compliance projects, including implementing new procedures and improving tool calibration

🤔 What you can expect:
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work directly with multiple teams (CFT Swift, Fraud, SEPA, Open Banking, AML) to ensure comprehensive compliance coverage and resolve complex cases
• Professional screening tools: Work with World-Check One, ComplyAdvantage, and Qonto's internal tooling system
• Fast-paced fintech culture: We value autonomy, direct feedback, and continuous improvement
• Ownership of your workload: Manage your daily caseload independently while maintaining high quality standards

🤝 About your future manager
Marina's background: After completing her Master's degree, Marina built a strong career in Financial Crime prevention at Ebury before joining Qonto in 2020, where she now serves as Lead AFC Sanctions & Investigations, managing a team of nine professionals.
What she brings to the team: Marina balances high compliance standards with a supportive, growth-focused approach. She provides hands-on coaching on complex cases and encourages her team to challenge existing processes while maintaining excellence.

🏅 About You
• Experience: At least 5 years in AML/Compliance in the financial sector, with specialized expertise in sanctions frameworks and screening (PEPs, sanctions lists, and adverse media)
• Sanctions expertise (essential): Deep understanding of international sanctions regulations (EU, OFAC, UN), ability to interpret complex sanctions scenarios, and proven experience in sanctions risk assessment and decision-making
• Languages: Fluent in French and English (C1 minimum). Any other European language is a plus
• Technical skills: Strong understanding of sanctions regulations and Excel/Google Sheets proficiency for tracking and reporting
• Working style: Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks while managing multiple cases efficiently
• Cultural fit: Proactive communicator who thrives in fast-paced fintech environments and isn't afraid to share feedback
• Location: Paris (hybrid: 3 days at the office, 2 days remote)

At Qonto, we understand that true diversity isn't just about ticking boxes on a hiring checklist. Apply regardless of the boxes you tick! Who knows? You may have the missing piece of the puzzle we've been searching for all along.
