Statistical analysisA/b testingData engineering

Overview

Datadog is seeking a Staff Statistics Engineer to lead the development of new products focused on Feature Flagging and Experimentation. You'll leverage statistical methods to enhance decision-making for developers and product teams. This role requires expertise in statistical concepts and production implementation.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in statistics and engineering, ideally with 5+ years of experience in a similar role. You understand statistical concepts deeply and can implement them in production environments, bridging the gap between software engineering and data science. Your experience includes working with statistical methods such as sequential analysis, CUPED, and change point detection, which are essential for building robust experimentation platforms. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with software engineers and product teams to ensure that statistical methods are effectively integrated into product development. You are comfortable communicating complex statistical ideas to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that everyone understands the value of data-driven decision-making.

Desirable

Experience with A/B testing frameworks and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud-based data solutions. You may have worked in environments where you had to manage the cultural and technical challenges of implementing statistical methods in production. A passion for helping teams ship features quickly and efficiently will set you apart.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the development of Datadog's Feature Flags and Experiments products from the ground up. You will design and implement a world-class experimentation engine that allows product teams to run A/B tests and make data-driven decisions with confidence. Your work will involve applying advanced statistical methods to solve common problems in experimentation, such as early peeking and long experiment durations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the experimentation platform meets the needs of over 30,000 customers across various industries. Your role will also include conducting root-cause analysis and providing insights that help teams understand user behavior and product performance.

What we offer

Datadog offers a dynamic work environment where you can make a significant impact on product development. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers and product managers who are dedicated to building innovative solutions. We provide competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. Join us in our mission to empower teams to make data-driven decisions and enhance their product offerings.
