You have over 8 years of experience in senior safety leadership roles, demonstrating a strong ability to act as a strategic architect for safety infrastructure. Your expertise lies in designing and embedding effective Safety Management Systems that operate seamlessly across various operational contexts. You are a trusted advisor to senior leadership, focusing on coaching leaders to take ownership of safety outcomes and fostering a culture of shared accountability.

Your background includes leading cultural shifts from reactive compliance to proactive safety measures, emphasizing the importance of psychological safety within the workplace. You are skilled in shifting reporting focus from lagging indicators to leading indicators, allowing for the prediction and prevention of incidents. Your experience with incident management includes utilizing systemic investigation methodologies such as ICAM or 5 Whys to identify and address system failures effectively.

You have a proven track record in managing WorkCover claims and Return to Work programs, prioritizing early intervention and genuine care for employees. Additionally, you are adept at developing competency-based training matrices that verify skills for high-risk activities, ensuring that all team members are equipped to handle their responsibilities safely.

What you'll do

In this role, you will act as the strategic architect for Youfoodz’s safety infrastructure, designing and embedding a world-class Safety Management System that operates seamlessly across the employee and production lifecycle. You will be responsible for coaching operational leaders to own safety outcomes, transitioning safety ownership from the HS&E department to the operational line. Your leadership will drive a cultural shift from reactive compliance to interdependent safety, fostering initiatives that promote psychological safety.

You will oversee incident management, utilizing systemic investigation methodologies to identify system failures and implement corrective actions. Your role will also involve managing WorkCover claims and Return to Work programs, focusing on early intervention and genuine care for employees. You will develop a competency-based training matrix that verifies skills for high-risk activities, ensuring that all team members are prepared for their roles.

Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and owning the Environmental Management Plan, driving specific initiatives around waste reduction and energy efficiency. Your strategic insights will be crucial in shaping the safety culture at Youfoodz, making safety a shared responsibility across all levels of the organization.
