Job Description

We are a technology team formed to solve an exciting challenge: how do we design (plan), run and monitor the Global Amazon transportation network while optimizing it for customer experience, quality, carbon emissions and cost? We are seeking a rock star Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team. In this role you will maintain and analyze large data sets, build data models for analysis, and collaborate with stakeholders to define meaningful success metrics. You expertise in data engineering and analysis will directly impact our organization's success by providing actionable insights that inform strategic decisions. You will work closely with colleagues in product, software engineering, and finance to implement high-quality, data-driven decisions. You will use advanced data modeling, predictive modeling and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from Amazon’s data and leverage these insights into initiatives that will support business outcomes. You should be able to effectively partner, communicate and earn trust across teams. You have expertise in mining large and diverse data sets, data visualization, writing SQL queries, building rapid prototypes and generating insights that enable leaders to make critical business decisions. You are comfortable with ambiguity and communicate clearly and effectively to peers and leaders alike. You are motivated to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. Key job responsibilities
Work closely with the Product Managers, Scientists, Engineers, and Data Engineers on developing BI/analytics solutions to measure the performance of new and existing solutions (including ML models) and surface new opportunities for improvements.
Build and analyze key metrics to uncover trends and root causes of issues and own ad-hoc deep dive investigations into existing customer journeys to identify root causes of issues and surface improvement opportunities.
Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing data pipelines, metrics, reports, visualizations, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive business decisions.
Work with Product Managers, Data Engineers, scientists to develop a mechanism to measure the performance of a new and complex projects that seeks to create a unified and cohesive generative AI solution to enhance customer experience
Collaborate with other stakeholders to optimize and adopt applications within the AWS ecosystem.
In this role, the BIE will be responsible for migrating dashboards to new visualization tools, conducting thorough testing, deploying the new tools, and training users on the updated visualization platform.

About the team
Global Transportation Technology Services (GTTS) builds and lifecycle manages a portfolio of global solutions that GTS network owners and operators, along with their transportation partners across Amazon, use to maximize productivity and transportation savings, minimize defects, and accelerate speed. We enable network operators to make and execute performance-driving decisions faster, more accurately, and with less effort through technology. Our portfolio consists of products across the Network Topology Management (the way the network is designed and how it changes with time), Capacity Management (the volumes that are shipped through the network), and Network Monitoring domains (assessing the network in real-time, highlighting the risk associated and reacting to the risk to mitigate them proactively) serving customers globally on a monthly basis managing Amazon outbound transportation network.- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with SQL
- Experience in the data/BI space- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
