Overview

Google is seeking a Senior Technical Operations Manager to oversee operations in their data centers. Who you are

You have a strong technical background with at least 9 years of experience in HVAC, electrical, controls, or mechanical systems — you've worked extensively in data center environments and understand the complexities of maintaining critical infrastructure. Your educational background includes an Associate's degree or equivalent practical experience, and you may hold a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a relevant engineering field. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively interact with all levels of the organization, including executives. Your experience includes reliability-centered maintenance and engineering, allowing you to forecast resource requirements in a data-driven manner.

What you'll do

As a Technical Operations Manager at Google, you will lead the operations of sophisticated electrical and mechanical systems within data centers. You will manage on-site incidents and emergencies, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff. Your role will involve inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various data center systems, including HVAC and electrical distribution. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to implement operational improvements and convey technical information effectively. Your responsibilities will also include mentoring junior technicians and advocating for best practices in operations management.
