Your experience includes conducting failure analysis and uncovering edge cases to improve model robustness — you are adept at leveraging both traditional statistical methods and modern techniques in your evaluations. You are comfortable building and curating evaluation datasets and benchmarks, ensuring that your assessments are comprehensive and insightful.

Desirable

Experience with LLMs and multimodal systems is a plus — you are familiar with the latest advancements in machine learning and are eager to apply them in practical scenarios. A background in video engineering or analytics would enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will develop robust methodologies to assess the performance of foundation models across diverse tasks — your work will involve leveraging LLMs as judges for subjective evaluations, such as summarization and reasoning. You will collaborate with various teams at Apple to define evaluation goals that align with user experience and product quality, ensuring that your assessments are relevant and impactful.

You will conduct failure analysis to identify edge cases and improve model robustness — your insights will help shape the development of more reliable models. Additionally, you will contribute to the tools and infrastructure necessary to automate and scale evaluation processes, enhancing the efficiency of the evaluation framework.
