Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in building and optimizing data pipelines. Your expertise in cloud platforms, particularly AWS, allows you to design scalable and efficient data architectures that support business intelligence and machine learning initiatives. You are proficient in SQL and Python, enabling you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively. You have experience with data lakehouses, particularly with technologies like Apache Iceberg, and understand the importance of data governance and quality. You thrive in a remote work environment and are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making. You are passionate about leveraging data to create impactful solutions for ecommerce brands.

Desirable

Experience with Airflow for orchestrating complex data workflows is a plus. Familiarity with BI tools and machine learning frameworks will enhance your contributions to the team. You are a proactive communicator who enjoys mentoring junior engineers and sharing knowledge within your team.

What you'll do

As a Staff Data Engineer at Postscript, you will lead the modernization of our data stack, focusing on building a robust data lakehouse that facilitates broad access to data for our BI, Machine Learning, and Engineering teams. You will design and implement data pipelines that ensure data quality and availability, enabling teams to derive insights and make informed decisions. You will collaborate closely with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and provide them with the necessary tools and infrastructure. Your role will involve optimizing existing data processes and exploring new technologies to enhance our data capabilities. You will also be responsible for documenting data architecture and workflows to ensure transparency and maintainability. As a leader in the data engineering practice, you will mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall growth of the team.
