Wheely is seeking a Data Scientist to own the process of building models from ideation to production. You'll work with Python and machine learning techniques to solve complex problems in a unique ride-hailing platform. This role requires 2+ years of experience in Data Science or Machine Learning.
You have a STEM degree from a top university and at least 2 years of experience in Data Science or Machine Learning. Your programming skills in Python are excellent, and you possess a deep understanding of probability and statistics. You thrive in cross-functional teams, collaborating with engineers, designers, and product managers to tackle ambiguous problems and implement algorithms in production. You are passionate about building proofs of concept and improving existing algorithms, always looking for ways to enhance the user experience while maintaining privacy at the core of your work.
Experience with data visualization tools and frameworks would be a plus, as well as familiarity with cloud platforms for deploying machine learning models. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
At Wheely, you will join one of our specialized teams focusing on Passenger, Supply, Matching, or Mapping. Your primary responsibility will be to predict ETAs, dispatch requests, and optimize pricing strategies to maximize demand and supply. You will own the entire process of model development, from initial ideation and research to the implementation of models in production. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to solve complex problems and deliver impactful solutions that enhance our service. Your role will also involve building new proofs of concept and improving existing algorithms, ensuring that our platform remains at the forefront of technology while prioritizing user privacy.
