Overview

Apple is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to design and produce precision RF and Analog Test Equipment for wireless communication products. You'll work with C and C++ on ARM processors, focusing on embedded Linux and RTOS. This role requires a BS degree in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years of experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a BS Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field, along with at least 2 years of experience in embedded firmware design. Your expertise includes designing embedded firmware in C and C++ on ARM processors, and you have recent development experience in areas such as Embedded Linux, RTOS, and resource-efficient firmware design. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including RF system engineers and hardware engineers, to create innovative products. You are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in your work.

Desirable

Experience with hardware driver development, particularly in CPU/FPGA interfaces, is a plus. Familiarity with macOS DriverKit and multi-core or multi-threaded software development will enhance your contributions to the team. You are open to international travel of up to 10% as part of your role.

What you'll do

As an Embedded Software Engineer at Apple, you will be part of a small team dedicated to designing and producing cutting-edge RF and Analog Test Equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to develop embedded software that supports the calibration and testing of various wireless technologies, including cellular, 5G, WiFi, and Bluetooth. You will collaborate closely with RF system engineers, software engineers, DSP engineers, FPGA logic designers, and hardware engineers to ensure that the products meet Apple's exacting standards. You will take internal products from concept to mass production, ensuring that they maintain the quality and functionality expected by millions of users worldwide.

You will engage in the entire development lifecycle, from initial design through to implementation and testing. Your role will involve writing efficient and reliable firmware, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing performance. You will also participate in design reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies within the team.
