Overview

Google is seeking a Consultant for Managed Defense at Mandiant to deliver detection and response services against cyber threats. You'll leverage your expertise in incident response, malware analysis, and security protocols. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 3 years of relevant experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, along with at least 3 years of experience in information security, SOC, incident response, or similar cyber experience. Your background includes 2 years of experience in technical delivery, service delivery, and client management within managed services. You are familiar with critical tools used in incident response, computer forensics, malware analysis, and network or host-based intrusion detection. Your experience extends to proactive services, remediation, and vulnerability testing, and you have worked with enterprise detection technologies and processes, including Advanced Threat Detection tools, IDS/IPS, Network Packet Analysis, Endpoint Protection, Identity Security, and Cloud Security. You possess a solid understanding of network and security protocols, as well as operating systems like Unix and Linux.

You are adept at navigating current information security issues and solutions, with experience in collecting, analyzing, and escalating security events. You have a proven track record of responding to computer security incidents and disseminating cyber threat intelligence. Your ability to evaluate customer needs and coordinate design solutions is complemented by your strong communication skills, allowing you to convey succinct and fact-based information to various stakeholders.

What you'll do

As a Mandiant Threat Defense Technical Consultant, you will serve as a thought leader in the Managed Defense team. You will own the service delivery of detection and response against attackers for multiple customers, ensuring that you stay informed on the latest security trends, including threat intelligence and malware analysis. You will address intricate technical issues with ambiguous requirements, developing innovative and effective solutions. Taking initiative and ownership of projects, you will work independently with minimal supervision while partnering with various teams and stakeholders across departments to achieve shared goals.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality service to clients, ensuring that their security needs are met effectively. This includes conducting thorough assessments of their security posture and providing actionable recommendations for improvement. You will also play a key role in incident response, working closely with clients to manage and mitigate security incidents as they arise. Your expertise will be crucial in developing and implementing proactive security measures to prevent future incidents.
