Job Description

**About the Role** Lead a high performing team of data scientists to grow and optimize Uber’s global airports business. Uber’s airports are dynamic two-sided marketplaces, and you will own all science aspects including driver dispatch, rider and driver pricing, user experience, incentives, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to lead one of the largest and most dynamic marketplaces in the world. **What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points** - Lead a team of applied scientists to solve problems at the intersection of optimization, econometrics, causal inference and machine learning to deliver business value for Uber’s global airport marketplace. - Collaborate with cross functional partners to create and execute on an inspiring roadmap. - Lead a data driven change to guide the next chapter of algorithmic and product development for Uber's global airports. - Mentor and grow a best in class data science team, and be a role model for the entire science organization. **Basic Qualifications** - 3+ years of experience leading a high performing team of 4+ applied scientists and MLEs. - Sound fundamentals in experimentation, causal inference and marketplace dynamics. - Strong ability to work with engineering, product and business stakeholders. **Preferred Qualifications** - PhD in Economics, Operations Research, Statistics or similar technical field. - 5+ years of experience of leading a team of 5+ DS/MLE with strong product ownership. - Experience leading a large-scale marketplace focused team at scale. - Demonstrated experience in using experimentation, causal inference, ML etc. to deliver business outcomes. - Demonstrated experience in working with Director/VP level stakeholders. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$212,000 per year - USD$235,500 per year. For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$212,000 per year - USD$235,500 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$212,000 per year - USD$235,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
