Data Center Services Manager

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Construction Engineering, or Construction Management, along with 12 years of experience in facility design and construction environments. Your background includes extensive experience with data center equipment and environments, such as switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, and fire safety systems. You possess strong vendor and project management skills, and your experience in people management has equipped you to lead teams effectively.

You are knowledgeable about fast-track design build processes and the associated documents and agreements, as well as electrical and mechanical systems. Your understanding of startup and commissioning processes is a valuable asset, and you are willing to travel up to 25% of the time. You thrive in environments where technology is at the forefront, and you are driven to optimize efficiencies and seek continuous improvements.

What you'll do

As a Data Center Services Manager at Google, you will be involved in all aspects of the development and operation of our data centers. You will act as a single point of accountability and oversight for major new construction projects or capital improvement projects in existing facilities, utilizing both internal and external resources. Your role will require you to support the development of detailed, localized designs, leveraging the programmatic design Plan of Records (PoR). You will drive procurement, construction, and commissioning processes, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

You will collaborate with a team of engineers and technicians to implement cutting-edge strategies that enhance the efficiency and sustainability of our data centers. Your ability to generate ideas and communicate recommendations to senior-level executives will be crucial in driving implementation alongside facilities technicians. You will also be responsible for managing relationships with vendors and ensuring that all project milestones are met.
