Software Engineer III, Embedded Systems, Firmware, Kernel Quality

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  
• 2 years of experience in embedded systems (e.g., firmware, Linux kernel, device drivers).

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  
• Experience working with Linux and with software lifecycle and build tools as well as experience architecting and developing software for scalable, distributed systems.
• Experience in Unix/Linux systems, IP networking, performance and application issues. Solid knowledge of CI/CD best practices.
• Experience with Linux Kernel Internals.

The KQT (Kernel Quality Team) team is looking for a dynamic, experienced lead Software Engineer to join our Sunnyvale team responsible for engineering core infrastructure supporting the Linux Kernel's management, test, and release.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
