Abuse Prevention Manager

Who you are

You are a proactive and analytically driven professional with experience in high-volume transaction or user environments. You have a strong desire to stay ahead of malicious actors and are skilled in analyzing existing and emerging policy abuse patterns. Your hands-on experience allows you to develop detection rules and optimize prevention strategies effectively.

You possess a keen ability to monitor transaction and user data, identifying suspicious patterns, trends, and vulnerabilities related to policy abuse, account takeover, promotional abuse, content spam, and other forms of platform manipulation. Your analytical mindset enables you to conduct deep-dive investigations into complex abuse schemes, documenting findings and presenting actionable recommendations to cross-functional teams.

You are adept at managing and fine-tuning existing prevention systems, regularly analyzing rule performance to minimize false positives while maximizing catch rates. As an escalation point for complex review cases, you provide expert analysis and final disposition decisions, ensuring that the integrity of the platform is maintained.

Collaboration is key for you; you work closely with Engineering and Data Science teams to define data requirements and improve the accuracy and efficiency of abuse-fighting tools. You are comfortable generating regular reports on key policy abuse metrics and communicating performance, risks, and insights to management.

Desirable

Experience with machine learning features and models is a plus, as is familiarity with internal tools and third-party systems that enhance detection capabilities.

What you'll do

Regular reporting on key policy abuse metrics will be part of your responsibilities, allowing you to communicate performance, risks, and insights to management effectively. Your analytical skills will help shape the strategies employed to prevent abuse across the platform.
