Overview

Google is seeking a Policy Enforcement Manager for YouTube to enhance user safety and enforce community guidelines. You'll work with data analytics, machine learning, and SQL to address content concerns and improve workflows. This role requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 4 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cyber-security, or related fields. Your background includes experience with machine learning and proficiency in SQL, enabling you to build dashboards and visualize data effectively. You possess excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, allowing you to influence cross-functionally at various levels. You thrive in collaborative environments and are dedicated to making YouTube a safe space for users, viewers, and content creators.

Desirable

A Master's degree is preferred, along with experience in building dashboards and data collection/transformation. Familiarity with scripting or programming languages, such as Python, is a plus. You are proactive and adaptable, ready to navigate the complexities of online content concerns while maintaining a focus on user safety and free speech.

What you'll do

As a Policy Enforcement Manager, you will work closely with a global team from Policy, Enforcement, Product, Engineering, Tools, Legal, and other departments to prevent violative content from appearing on YouTube. You will evaluate abuse trends and quality within vendor operations, developing creative solutions to enhance workflows and processes. Your role involves reviewing decisions about the appropriateness of various content, considering cultural and political contexts, and handling escalations with a fast turnaround time to implement the best plans quickly. You will provide timely updates to executives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to think strategically about user safety while protecting free speech. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing controversial and offensive video content in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines, ensuring that the platform remains a safe and welcoming environment for all users.
