The Windows Silicon & Systems Integration (WSSI) team drives innovation at the intersection of hardware and software. As an Principal Software Engineering Manager for the Open Device Partnership (ODP) program, you will lead a team of engineers focused on enabling an open ecosystem to build next generation Windows devices. Your mission is to accelerate partner success by delivering firmware, drivers, frameworks, validation tools, and onboarding processes that make ODP adoption seamless. You will collaborate with silicon vendors, OEMs, and internal engineering teams to define technical strategy, ensure compliance with Microsoft standards, and influence industry-wide best practices.
ODP (website) is a cornerstone open-source initiative on GitHub and includes a growing list of projects focused on raising the bar on device security, power & performance, and streamlining development though standardization in projects such as Patina (secure UEFI), Secure Embedded Controller (EC), Unified Windows-EC Services, and partner development & readiness tools. Software Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
