You have a B.S. in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, or a related field, and bring over 5 years of industry experience, particularly in sales or technical roles. Your background equips you with the ability to analyze and interpret customer inquiries, ensuring that you can design and specify appropriate equipment for various applications. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to work alongside teams of subject matter experts, enhancing your skills and contributing to the success of the organization.

You possess a strong understanding of Zeeco products, especially the Power Burner line, and are adept at managing individual proposals. Your experience has honed your skills in developing cost estimates and setting product pricing based on established guidelines. You are detail-oriented and capable of coordinating the completion of necessary drawings for quotations, ensuring that all aspects of the proposal are comprehensive and competitive.

Your communication skills are exceptional, allowing you to write, edit, and issue formal quotations effectively. You are comfortable following up on correspondence with customers during the quotation phase and are skilled at negotiating proposals post-issuance. You understand the importance of providing status reports to management on overall proposal progress, demonstrating your ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Desirable

Experience with Adobe and web-based systems is a plus, as is familiarity with technical development and risk assessment related to customer inquiries. What you'll do

In your role as an Applications Engineer at Zeeco, you will be responsible for analyzing customer inquiries and specifications to design and specify the appropriate equipment for various applications. You will travel to customer facilities to provide site support and gather details necessary for technical reviews and proposal generation. Your expertise will be crucial in assisting with the technical development and risk assessment of customer inquiries, ensuring that all proposals are well-informed and competitive.

You will develop cost estimates according to established guidelines and set product pricing using mark-up and commission schedules established by management. Your role will also involve determining the drawings needed for quotations and coordinating their completion, ensuring that all necessary documentation is prepared accurately and on time.

As part of your responsibilities, you will write, edit, and issue formal quotations to customers, maintaining clear and professional communication throughout the process. You will follow up on any written or verbal correspondence with customers during the quotation phase, ensuring that all inquiries are addressed promptly and effectively. After issuing proposals, you will visit customers to discuss and negotiate the proposals, demonstrating your ability to build strong relationships and foster collaboration.
