Who you are

You have 5+ years of professional engineering experience, ideally in tech and product-driven companies. Your background may include being a former founder or an early engineer at a startup, where you built a product from scratch. You possess proficiency with TypeScript and React, along with other web technologies that enable you to create robust applications. You are proactive and product-minded, able to see the big picture while paying attention to the details that define great products. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product, design, and external customers to understand problems and implement effective solutions.

Desirable

Experience with backend infrastructure and safety is a plus, as is familiarity with OpenAI's technologies. You are comfortable working with research teams to improve next-generation models and have a strong understanding of the end-to-end development lifecycle for enterprise products. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams will help you succeed in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own the end-to-end development lifecycle for new enterprise products, ensuring they are designed and scaled effectively. You will collaborate closely with product and design teams, as well as external customers, to understand their needs and implement solutions that enhance user experience. You will push the boundaries of OpenAI’s newest technologies, enabling interactions and automations that are both functional and delightful. Your work will directly impact how millions of companies and developers utilize OpenAI's cutting-edge research.

You will also engage with the research team to improve the next generation of models, contributing to the overall mission of OpenAI. Your role will involve not just coding, but also strategic thinking about product development and user engagement. You will be expected to stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in the industry, applying this knowledge to your work.
