Overview

Datadog is seeking a Senior Strategic Account Executive to target and close new business with large, strategic customers. You'll focus on understanding customer pain points in cloud environments and delivering tailored solutions. This role requires 5+ years of closing experience and a proven track record in sales.

Job Description

Who you are

You have over 5 years of closing experience, with a strong background in field selling within mid-market and enterprise environments. You are driven and have consistently met or exceeded direct sales goals of over $1 million, managing an average deal size of $100,000 or more. Your ability to develop and maintain relationships is key, as you will be responsible for mapping out existing and aspirational contacts within your territory. You possess a deep understanding of customer business needs and can negotiate favorable pricing and business terms by effectively selling value and ROI. Resourcefulness is one of your strengths, allowing you to tackle challenges that may not have straightforward solutions. You have an intuitive sense of the necessary steps to close business and gain customer validation, ensuring high forecasting accuracy and consistency.

What you'll do

In this role, you will prospect into large Fortune 1000 companies while running an efficient sales process. You will maintain, build, and own specific relationship maps for your territory, which includes both existing relationships and aspirational contacts. Developing a deep comprehension of your customers' businesses will be crucial as you identify their pain points, particularly as they operate in or migrate to a cloud environment at scale. You will negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with large commercial enterprises, focusing on delivering value and ROI. Handling existing customer expectations while expanding your reach and depth into your assigned territory will be part of your daily responsibilities. You will demonstrate resourcefulness when faced with challenges and have an intuitive sense of the necessary steps to close business and gain customer validation. Ensuring high forecasting accuracy and consistency will be essential to your success in this role.
