Job Description

As an Account Manager with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the ANZ Public Sector team, you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with key government customers in Australia. You will drive the adoption of AWS services, deliver customer success outcomes, and support digital transformation initiatives within the public sector.

Key job responsibilities
Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, focusing on government agencies, education institutions, and nonprofit organisations.​

Build and maintain deep relationships with executive and technical decision-makers in federal, state, and territory government departments.​

Understand customer missions, business drivers, and cloud adoption goals; work backwards from customer needs to identify and deliver tailored AWS solutions.​​

Collaborate with internal AWS teams—including solutions architects, security specialists, and professional services—to create compelling value propositions and articulate the benefits of AWS for the public sector.​​

Lead the development and execution of account strategies, proposals, and contract negotiations to achieve or exceed sales targets.​

Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through regular communication, business reviews, and proactive delivery of AWS innovations.​​

Navigate regulatory, compliance, and procurement processes unique to the public sector, ensuring proposals and solutions align with relevant frameworks.​

Represent AWS at public sector events, forums, and conferences as an advocate for digital transformation and cloud innovation.- 4+ years of stakeholder or account management experience, or experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings
- Experience managing executive customer relationships and key business stakeholders
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts
- Experience with high-level negotiation and successful internal and external relationship management
- Experience representing AWS within the customer's environment and driving discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management, and risk mitigation- Experience in working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies
- Experience with AWS or cloud technologies
- Relevant security clearances or ability to obtain federal government clearance if required.
