Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or a related field, demonstrating a strong understanding of both operations and software engineering principles. Your background includes working with cloud platforms like AWS, and you are proficient in containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. You have a solid grasp of Linux systems and scripting languages, particularly Python, which you use to automate tasks and improve system reliability. You are familiar with infrastructure as code practices, utilizing tools like Terraform to manage and provision infrastructure efficiently. Your experience includes monitoring and alerting systems, ensuring that production environments are stable and performant. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with development teams to enhance system resilience and reduce operational toil. You are committed to continuous learning and improvement, always seeking to incorporate best practices into your work.

Desirable

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools, particularly GitLab CI, is a plus. Familiarity with observability tools and practices, such as Prometheus or Grafana, will help you excel in this role. You understand the importance of security in site reliability and have experience implementing security best practices in production environments.

What you'll do

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at GitLab, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our user-facing services and production systems.
