Job Description

Who you are

You have extensive experience in compensation strategy and management, ideally within a global context. You understand the nuances of designing compensation programs that are competitive and equitable, and you have a proven track record of partnering with leadership to align compensation with business objectives. Your strategic mindset allows you to balance global consistency with regional flexibility, ensuring that compensation practices reflect local market realities.

You are a strong communicator and collaborator, capable of working closely with HR Business Partners, Finance, Recruiting, and Legal teams. Your ability to provide hands-on leadership across core compensation disciplines is complemented by your analytical skills, enabling you to make data-driven decisions that support long-term growth. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable navigating complex organizational dynamics.

Desirable

Experience in international markets and understanding of compensation compliance across different regions would be beneficial. Familiarity with compensation software and tools is a plus, as is a background in HR or People Operations.

What you'll do

In this role, you will serve as the lead compensation partner for the EMEA region, providing strategic guidance on compensation design and market positioning. You will be responsible for managing pay decisions and ensuring that compensation programs align with OpenAI's business objectives. As the team scales, you will also support compensation needs across other international markets, contributing to the global expansion strategy.

You will collaborate closely with regional leadership to design and implement compensation programs that attract, reward, and retain top talent. Your role will involve analyzing market trends and internal data to ensure that compensation practices are competitive and equitable. You will also provide insights and recommendations to leadership on pay structures and compensation policies.

As a strategic advisor, you will balance the need for global consistency with the flexibility required to address regional differences. You will lead discussions on compensation-related matters and ensure compliance with local regulations and best practices. Your hands-on leadership will be crucial in shaping the compensation strategy as OpenAI continues to grow internationally.
