Job Description

Global Catalog Operations team at Amazon is looking for a highly motivated and talented candidate for the role of Catalog Specialist II. Proficiency in written and verbal English is a fundamental requirement for this position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting quality audits and recommending high confidence corrections to Amazon’s retail catalog. The candidate is also expected to use human judgement to make decisions on behalf of our customers. Strong qualitative research, quantitative analysis, communication skills, attention to detail; and a commitment to excellence are the required skill sets for this role.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead and oversee the execution of content audits, adhering to established processes, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while ensuring utmost accuracy and efficiency.
• Demonstrate exceptional judgment and decision-making skills during content audits, even in situations with ambiguous or incomplete information
• Exercise your editorial expertise to approve or disapprove audit entries based on pre-defined guidelines, providing well-reasoned explanations for each decision.
• Effectively communicate audit results to relevant stakeholders within the organization, offering insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
• Create appealing high-quality textual content for Amazon products which will enhance customer’s e-commerce buying experience
• Develop new or curate existing custom prompts/instructions to improve the quality of system outputs
• Analyze system generated outputs and use existing feedback loop to fine tune the instructions which helps improve precision and recall of system generated outputs
• Utilize authoritative sources to validate and enrich catalog data, ensuring its reliability and relevance to customers.
• Effectively communicate audit results to relevant stakeholders within the organization, offering insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Browse the Amazon site and use search techniques to locate specific products internally and externally
• Analyze available data and leverage your experience to identify emerging trends and patterns, contributing valuable insights to strategic decision-making
• Ability to produce executive metrics and make recommendations for process and systems improvement
• Demonstrates mastery of Seller Support operations and tools
• Scope and recommend new improvements in audit activities
• Demonstrates effective communication, composure, and professional attitude
• Proactively serves as a technical resource and mentor for other associates
- 1+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Knowledge of SQL and Advanced Excel (Array and Statistical formulas)
- • Bachelor degree in the field of Engineering, Science, Arts or Literature with 1 to 2 years of working experience in textual content management processes or similar fields
- • Proficiency in American English with demonstrated language skills in verbal, writing, reading, and comprehension
- • Strong working knowledge of basic computer business applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook;
- • Familiarity with online retail (e-commerce) and Internet search industries and manages queues to ensure SLA compliance.
- • Continuously reviews and reports current state of team’s workflow. Facilitating and coordinating proactive improvements in process and platform enhancement projects including successfully completing approved special projects as assigned.
- • Willingness to work with sensitive issues, including but not limited to: - Adult Content - Religious and philosophically sensitive issues - Alcohol, tobacco, weapons and other potentially offensive products- • Knowledge of databases (querying and analyzing) such as SQL, MYSQL, and ETL Manager and working with large data sets
- • Experience in managing critical operational processes, with SLA responsibility
