Overview

Google is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to drive product identity personalization through data analysis and statistical modeling. You'll work with Python, R, and SQL to extract insights and make impactful business recommendations. This role requires 5+ years of experience in data science or a related field.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field, and at least 5 years of work experience in analysis applications. You are skilled in coding with Python, R, and SQL, and have a strong background in statistical analysis and solving business problems. If you hold a Master's degree, you can qualify with 2 years of relevant experience. You excel at framing and solving unstructured business problems with data science, translating results into impactful business recommendations, and measuring the success of those initiatives. Your experience includes LLM evaluation techniques and working with human evaluation data such as surveys and raters. You are a data-loving member of the team, serving as an analytics expert for your partners, using numbers to help them make better decisions.

Desirable

A Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field is preferred. You have experience in advanced experimentation, including user learning effects, and are adept at presenting data-driven recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders to drive product strategy.

What you'll do

In this role, you will perform large-scale statistical modeling and user-journey analysis to identify product opportunities and quantify the impact of various initiatives. You will define and implement robust data quality frameworks while automating dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights at scale. Your responsibilities will include leading advanced experimentation efforts and presenting your findings to stakeholders to influence product strategy. You will collaborate closely with teams across the organization, including Engineering and Product Management, to ensure that data-driven insights are effectively integrated into decision-making processes. You will also be responsible for measuring the success of initiatives and continuously refining methodologies to enhance data quality and insight generation.
