Overview

Amazon is hiring a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment. You'll work with technologies like Arduino and Embedded Linux in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Who you are

You are a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician with a strong foundation in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems. You have hands-on experience with automated packaging and distribution equipment, and you are eager to develop your skills further while mentoring junior technicians. You understand the importance of reliability in operations and are committed to ensuring that all equipment runs smoothly to meet customer demands.

You possess a solid understanding of mechatronics principles and have experience working with robotics systems. Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to work collaboratively within a team, and you are always looking for ways to improve processes and enhance efficiency. You are proactive in identifying issues and are skilled at troubleshooting and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

Experience with pneumatic systems and material handling equipment is a plus. Familiarity with safety protocols and maintenance best practices will help you excel in this role. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in the Operations Maintenance team. Your primary responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and repairing various automated systems and equipment throughout the facility. You will work closely with other technicians to ensure that all machinery operates at peak performance, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.

You will be involved in troubleshooting equipment failures and implementing solutions to prevent future issues. Your role will also include conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance on all robotics and material handling equipment. You will document maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior technicians, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the operations team.
