Google is seeking a Software Engineer for the Google Distributed Cloud Air Gapped team to develop large-scale infrastructure and distributed systems. You'll work with technologies like Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, and Kubernetes. This position requires 2 years of software development experience.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development or 1 year with an advanced degree in an industry setting. Your background includes developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, and you have experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. You are familiar with test automation, refactoring code, test-driven development, build infrastructure, optimizing software, debugging, and building tools and testing frameworks. You also have experience with engineering tools and infrastructure, and a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields is preferred, as is experience developing accessible technologies.
As a Software Engineer at Google, you will develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information. You will partner with engineering teams to ensure the quality of operable components are rolled out to the environments. Your responsibilities will include driving product feature deliverables, resolving customer issues, and enhancing virtual environments to match physical setups. You will write automation to manage physical environments setup and health, and integrate the platform/test environment with CI/CD processes. Your work will involve collaborating with teams across various domains, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, and data storage.
