Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operation Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure in Sparks, Nevada. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you thrive in hands-on environments and enjoy troubleshooting complex equipment. Your experience includes working with diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and various cooling systems, ensuring that mission-critical facilities operate smoothly and efficiently. You understand the importance of maintaining uptime and are committed to delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment. You are a team player who collaborates effectively with software, hardware, and network engineers to solve challenging problems. You are eager to learn and grow within the field, contributing to the success of the team and the organization.

Desirable

Experience with data center operations or similar environments is a plus — familiarity with AWS infrastructure services will help you excel in this role. You may also have certifications related to electrical or mechanical engineering, which will enhance your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operation Technician at Amazon, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting critical infrastructure that supports global digital experiences. You will operate and maintain diesel generators, UPS systems, and other electrical equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Your role will involve hands-on work with cooling systems, including centrifugal chillers and air handlers, to maintain the ideal operating conditions for data center equipment. You will collaborate with a diverse team to address operational challenges and implement solutions that enhance system reliability. Your contributions will directly impact the uptime and performance of AWS data centers, making you a vital part of the team that keeps the cloud running.
