Job Description

Who you are

You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting equipment and are eager to learn about data center operations. Your attention to detail ensures that you maintain high standards of uptime and reliability in mission-critical environments.

You possess a basic understanding of three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs. You are comfortable working with diesel generators and related fuel systems, and you have a keen interest in maintaining and operating cooling systems such as centrifugal chillers and air handlers. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are excited to contribute to a diverse team of engineers.

Desirable

Experience with AWS infrastructure services is a plus, as is familiarity with data center operations. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that enhance operational efficiency. A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to take on challenges will set you apart in this role.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operation Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. You will work closely with a team of engineers to monitor equipment performance and respond to any issues that arise, maintaining our commitment to 99.999% uptime.

You will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems, including generators, UPSs, and cooling systems. Your hands-on approach will help you identify potential problems before they escalate, allowing you to implement solutions that keep our infrastructure running smoothly. You will also assist in the installation and configuration of new equipment, ensuring that it meets our operational standards.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work alongside software, hardware, and network engineers to support the overall functionality of our data centers. You will participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and share insights on improving operational processes. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our services, making you an integral part of our mission to provide seamless digital experiences.

What we offer

You will have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and development. We believe in fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, where your ideas and contributions are valued.

Join us in Avondale, Arizona, and be part of a team that is dedicated to maintaining the infrastructure that powers the cloud.
