Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 5 years of experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Java, C/C++, Python, or Go. Your background includes 3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, along with experience in compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. You are well-versed in Linux OS development and have a strong command of C/C++. You are versatile and display leadership qualities, eager to tackle new challenges across the full-stack as technology continues to evolve.

You possess a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields, which enhances your understanding of complex systems. Your experience includes working on projects that require innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, particularly in areas like information retrieval, distributed computing, and large-scale system design. You are enthusiastic about contributing to the development of technologies that impact billions of users worldwide.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Google, you will lead the development and extension of cornerstone NodeOS capabilities, which includes engineering into open-source aspects, Google-specific daemons, and the Linux kernel. You will analyze, design, implement, and automate rollouts while troubleshooting large-scale computer systems. Your role will involve redesigning and refactoring existing systems to improve performance and parallelism, ensuring that the infrastructure can handle massive scale and complexity.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development of next-generation technologies that change how users connect and interact with information.
