Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Principal Electrical Design Engineer for the Starlink team to develop customer-facing products and devices. You'll work with technologies like Altium Designer and Embedded Linux in Bastrop, TX.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in designing and developing consumer hardware products. Your expertise includes working with high-volume production and you have a strong understanding of embedded systems. You are proficient in using Altium Designer for PCB design and have experience with embedded Linux systems. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about creating innovative solutions that connect people to the internet. You have a collaborative mindset and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams to bring products from concept to reality.

Desirable

Experience with satellite communication systems or RF design is a plus. Familiarity with regulatory compliance for consumer electronics will help you navigate the complexities of product development. You are comfortable mentoring junior engineers and sharing your knowledge to foster a culture of learning within the team.

What you'll do

As a Principal Electrical Design Engineer at SpaceX, you will lead the design and development of customer-facing hardware products, including Starlink dishes and Wi-Fi routers. You will take ownership of the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through to production and deployment. Your role will involve collaborating with mechanical engineers, software developers, and product managers to ensure that the hardware meets performance and reliability standards. You will conduct design reviews, oversee testing and validation processes, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during development.
