Overview

Lyft is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting to lead compliance with US GAAP and provide technical accounting expertise. This role requires 10+ years of experience in accounting and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Who you are

You are a seasoned accounting professional with over 10 years of experience in technical accounting, particularly in a public company environment. Your expertise in US GAAP is complemented by your ability to research and analyze complex accounting issues such as revenue recognition and lease accounting. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with legal, finance, and business units to ensure compliance and provide valuable insights. You have a track record of drafting comprehensive technical accounting memos that support your conclusions and guide your team.

You are comfortable mentoring junior team members and providing technical guidance across the organization. Your communication skills allow you to effectively convey complex accounting concepts to stakeholders at all levels. You are excited about the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and transforming environment, bringing your analytical skills and attention to detail to the forefront of your work.

Desirable

Experience with business combinations and debt accounting is a plus, as is familiarity with consolidations. You are adaptable and eager to learn, ready to tackle new challenges as they arise in a fast-paced setting.

What you'll do

In this role, you will serve as a key technical accounting expert within Lyft's Accounting team. You will support the Director of Technical Accounting by researching and analyzing complex accounting issues, ensuring that Lyft’s financial statements comply with US GAAP and internal policies. You will partner with cross-functional teams to assess the accounting impact of new business initiatives and transactions, providing guidance and support throughout the process.

Your responsibilities will include drafting comprehensive technical accounting memos to document your findings and conclusions. You will also provide training and technical guidance to junior team members, fostering their development and ensuring that the team operates at a high level of expertise. Your role will require you to stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring that Lyft remains compliant and well-informed.

What we offer

Lyft offers a competitive salary range of $156,000 to $195,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
