You have a strong background in audio engineering, particularly in on-set sound mixing, with a focus on capturing high-quality audio in dynamic environments. Your experience includes operating professional audio equipment such as boom microphones, lavalier mics, and mixers, ensuring that you can deliver clean, multi-track sound during filming sessions. You are adept at monitoring and adjusting audio levels in real-time, troubleshooting technical issues, and optimizing mixes to create the best recording conditions possible. Collaboration is key for you; you work closely with cinematographers and production crews to synchronize audio with visual shots, providing valuable input on sound design to enhance storytelling. You maintain organized logs for audio files and are meticulous about recording and backing up multi-track audio files immediately after shoots.

What you'll do

As a Production Sound Mixer at SpaceX, you will play a crucial role in the audio production process, ensuring that the sound captured during video shoots is of the highest quality. You will operate and mix audio sources on set, using your expertise to balance sound levels and capture immersive audio that supports compelling narratives. Your responsibilities will include coordinating with the cinematographer and production crew to synchronize audio mixing with visual shots, providing insights on sound design that enhance the storytelling of SpaceX missions. You will also be responsible for monitoring audio levels in real-time, troubleshooting any technical issues that arise, and optimizing your mixes to adapt to the unique challenges presented by launch sites and other filming locations. After each shoot, you will record, label, and back up multi-track audio files, ensuring that all audio is organized and accessible for post-production. Your role will require you to thrive in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with various teams to deliver seamless audio integration from set to post-production.
