Job Description

Who you are

You are a motivated individual eager to learn and grow in the field of software engineering. As a Full Stack Software Engineer Intern, you have a foundational understanding of both frontend and backend web development. You are familiar with JavaScript and React for creating user experiences, and you have some exposure to backend technologies such as PHP and Node.js. You are excited about the opportunity to work with AWS Cloud and are keen to learn how modern development teams deliver SaaS applications. You thrive in collaborative environments and are ready to engage with a team of experienced engineers.

Desirable

Experience with TypeScript and Jest is a plus, as these tools will be part of your daily work. If you have a passion for transforming designs and mockups into functional web applications, you will fit right in. A willingness to learn and adapt is essential, as you will be part of an agile development process where you will complete user stories and contribute to the team's sprint tasks.

What you'll do

In this role, you will work alongside full-time Software Engineers, participating in the development of GoFundMe's platform. You will contribute to the frontend applications using React and JavaScript, ensuring that user experiences are engaging and intuitive. On the backend, you will help develop solutions using PHP and Node.js, writing APIs that support the functionality of the platform. You will also have the opportunity to grow your skills in AWS Cloud, learning how to deploy and manage applications in a cloud environment. Throughout your internship, you will take part in the team's agile processes, collaborating with others to complete tasks and deliver features that enhance the user experience.

This internship program runs for 10 weeks, from May 27th, 2026, to August 7th, 2026, and will be based in San Francisco, CA. Interns are expected to be onsite three days per week, allowing for hands-on collaboration and mentorship. You will gain valuable experience in both frontend and backend development, preparing you for a successful career in software engineering. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
