You have extensive experience in database systems engineering and management, ideally with a focus on distributed databases. Your background includes leading teams and developing software solutions that ensure the reliability and performance of critical database services. You possess a strong understanding of technologies such as Apache Cassandra, Kafka, and Redis, and you are adept at managing large-scale systems that serve millions of users. You have a proven track record of building and maintaining distributed systems, and you understand the complexities involved in managing data at scale. As the Databases SRE Manager, you will lead the ASE Cassandra SRE team in Seattle, focusing on the development and management of Apache Cassandra and other database technologies. Your role will involve overseeing the deployment and operation of database systems that support Apple's critical internet services, including iCloud. You will be responsible for ensuring that these systems are reliable, scalable, and performant, serving millions of queries per second across vast amounts of data.
