What you'll do

As the Databases SRE Manager, you will lead the ASE Cassandra SRE team in Seattle, focusing on the development and management of Apache Cassandra and other database technologies. Your role will involve overseeing the deployment and operation of database systems that support Apple's critical internet services, including iCloud. You will be responsible for ensuring that these systems are reliable, scalable, and performant, serving millions of queries per second across vast amounts of data.

You will work closely with your team to develop applications and tooling that enhance the safety and reliability of database operations. This includes implementing best practices for monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning. You will also be involved in the design and architecture of new database solutions, ensuring they align with Apple's overall technology strategy.

In this role, you will collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate database solutions into broader service architectures. Your ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders will be crucial as you advocate for the needs of the database organization and ensure alignment with business objectives.
