Asana is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for their Detection Engineering team to build detection capabilities for security teams. You'll work on incident response tooling and risk management strategies, requiring expertise in cloud security and security engineering.
You have over 4 years of experience in security engineering or software engineering, demonstrating a strong understanding of security principles and practices. Your expertise in cloud or infrastructure security is essential, as you are interested in building defenses against real-world attacks. You have a proven track record of building and mentoring high-performing security teams, showcasing your leadership abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills allow you to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Experience with various security tools and frameworks is a plus, as is familiarity with incident response processes. You are comfortable balancing diverse risks when making decisions, ensuring that security measures align with business objectives. Your ability to collaborate cross-functionally will help improve the security posture of Asana.
In this role, you will design, implement, manage, and improve detection systems and controls that are crucial for the security of Asana's products. You will build tools that identify and help mitigate suspicious activity, ensuring that the organization can respond effectively to potential threats. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining incident response tooling for our blue team, which is vital for managing security incidents.
You will work closely with teammates and stakeholders to develop both short and long-term strategies for managing risks, aligning their roadmaps to enhance the overall security posture of Asana. Collaboration with product and other security teams will be essential as you support important projects and technologies, ensuring they are secure and resilient against threats.
