Job Description

Who you are

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems — you understand the intricacies of data center operations and are eager to maintain mission-critical facilities. Your hands-on experience with troubleshooting electrical equipment and mechanical systems makes you a valuable asset to our team. You thrive in environments where you can apply your technical skills to ensure seamless operations and high uptime. You are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence. You enjoy working collaboratively with a diverse team of engineers and specialists, contributing to the overall success of the data center. You are proactive in identifying potential issues and are dedicated to continuous improvement in all aspects of your work.

Desirable

Experience with diesel generators and fuel systems is a plus, as well as familiarity with three-phase electrical systems. Knowledge of cooling systems, including centrifugal chillers and air handlers, will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to our operations. A background in AWS infrastructure services or similar environments will be beneficial as you adapt to the fast-paced nature of data center operations.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the electrical and mechanical systems that support our data center operations. You will work directly with stand-by diesel generators, UPS systems, and various cooling systems to ensure they operate efficiently and reliably. Your expertise will help us achieve our goal of maintaining an extraordinary 99.999% uptime, which is critical for our global digital experiences. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to identify and resolve issues quickly, ensuring that our infrastructure remains robust and responsive to the needs of our customers. You will also participate in routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks, documenting your findings and contributing to our operational reports. Your role will involve hands-on work, requiring you to be comfortable with tools and equipment used in electrical and mechanical maintenance. You will be part of a team that supports all AWS data centers, contributing to the design, planning, delivery, and operation of our global infrastructure.
