Datadog is hiring an Engineering Manager for their APM SDK Capabilities team to lead a senior, polyglot team focused on observability infrastructure. You'll work with APM and OpenTelemetry, guiding technical direction across multiple language SDKs.
You have a strong background in engineering leadership, with experience managing teams that build critical infrastructure. You thrive at the intersection of infrastructure and developer experience, understanding the importance of well-designed APIs and observability-first thinking. You have a passion for empowering engineering teams and ensuring that instrumentation is both powerful and easy to adopt. Your experience includes working with various programming languages and frameworks, allowing you to guide a diverse team effectively.
You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaborate cross-functionally with product teams and other stakeholders. You are adept at shaping technical direction and have a keen understanding of how to onboard and scale observability solutions for thousands of engineering teams. Experience with observability tools and frameworks, particularly in the context of APM and OpenTelemetry, is a plus. As the Engineering Manager for APM SDK Capabilities, you will lead a senior team responsible for building the core infrastructure that underpins Datadog’s tracing libraries.
