Amazon is hiring a Senior SATCOM System Engineer for the Leo Customer Terminal project. You'll develop architecture and validation plans for satellite communication systems, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. This role requires expertise in embedded systems and programming languages like C and Python.
You have 5+ years of experience in satellite communication systems, with a strong background in system architecture and integration. Your expertise includes working with hardware, software, and firmware, and you thrive in collaborative environments with cross-functional teams. You possess a solid understanding of validation processes and can analyze data effectively to resolve issues. Your technical skills include proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python, as well as experience with embedded Linux systems. You are detail-oriented and ensure that all work meets technical, functional, and regulatory requirements. You are a U.S. citizen or national due to export control laws.
Experience with low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite systems is a plus, as is familiarity with RF and antenna technologies. You have a passion for global connectivity and a desire to contribute to projects that impact underserved communities. Your ability to lead cross-functional teams in resolving validation failures will set you apart.
In this role, you will develop the Customer Terminal architecture by collaborating closely with sub-system engineers across various disciplines, including electrical, RF, antenna, thermal, modem, DSP, ASIC, algorithm, firmware, modeling, and software. You will create validation plans and build the necessary infrastructure to execute testing, analyze results, and report findings to stakeholders. Your responsibilities will also include investigating and resolving validation failures, ensuring that the delivered work meets all technical, functional, performance, regulatory, and business requirements. You will perform in-field and on-orbit validation with satellites, contributing to the overall success of the Amazon Leo project. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time, depending on project phases.
