Job Description

About Us

Perk (formerly TravelPerk) is the intelligent platform for travel and spend management. Built to tackle the time-consuming, manual work that gets in the way of real work, our tools automate everything from travel bookings to expenses, invoice processing, and more. By eliminating this shadow work that wastes hours, erodes morale, and saps innovation, we’re on a mission to power real work, with real impact.

We’re trusted by more than 10,000 companies worldwide, including Wise, On Running, Breitling, and Fabletics, and we’re tackling the 7 hours of lost productivity per employee each week, a $1.7 trillion problem.

Founded in 2015, Perk has grown into a global company of more than 1,800 people across 12 offices globally, with headquarters in London and Boston. We combine innovation, control, and simplicity to transform how businesses work and how people feel at work.

At Perk, we’re driven by our values, like being an owner, delivering a 7-star experience, and working as one team. We value curiosity, purpose, and mindset, not just knowledge, to unlock the power in your potential. Our talent team brings together leading minds from travel and SaaS, representing over 70 countries. If you’re excited about having a real impact and shaping how millions of people experience work, we’d love you on the team.

Product Design Managers at Perk directly support Product Designers in delivering the best work they can while also working on high impact strategic design projects.

As a Product Designer Manager, you'll be leading the design and implementation of various feature upgrades for our growing platform. You’ll team up with Product and Engineering Tribe leads to always keep scope and priorities clear and to advocate for design and the customer within your Tribe and area of ownership.

You will help develop the product strategy for a specific Tribe and fine-tune its design approach, while also guiding our product design teams to execute end-to-end user experiences and take a meaningful part in multidisciplinary teams as the design expert.

This role will be reporting to the Senior Product Design Manager and will be part of the Design Leadership team, shaping how we scale and improve while we grow in size.

What you’ll do:

  • You will directly line manage a small team of product designers, being responsible for their personal and professional development
  • Own the design direction of a Tribe, making sure Product Design is contributing to the strategic goals of the group
  • Contribute to company strategy, identifying ways in which Design can be used to reach our quarterly goals for the Tribe you own
  • Develop partnerships with Product Managers, Engineering Leads and the Leadership team to help elevate the voice of Design and advocate for the user within Perk
  • Collaborate with the wider Product Design team to align the experience, making sure journeys and design patterns across our tools are coherent and consistent
  • Continuously optimise the design operations across the Product Design team, looking after the processes, frameworks and rituals that will make this team a world-class one
  • Influence and support the growth of the team through hiring, networking, and sourcing future team members

What you’ll need:

  • 8+ years of experience designing complex systems
  • Experience in B2B SaaS
  • Demonstrated experience leading design teams, mentoring designers and helping them progress
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to constructively direct and inspire action within your team. You can successfully push a team to improve the quality of the work they ship.
  • Solid communication skills (verbal and written). You are comfortable presenting ideas to multiple stakeholders and articulately defending design decisions.
  • Special talent for breaking down complexity and creating context for others
  • Ability to influence product roadmaps working alongside Product Managers and Engineers
  • Experience educating, partnering with, building with, and influencing product teams
  • Experience working in high-growth product companies with an international footprint

Why you'll love our team:

  • We are a team of 56 talented product designers, content designers and researchers. We like to think of ourselves as high-achievers, goal-oriented, eager to learn and grow. We foster efficiency through autonomy and creativity through collaboration.
  • Working in the Product Design team will ensure high-quality design, strategic impact in the product and next-level GIFs 😎
  • In the Product Design team, you will find a strong culture of ownership, impact-over-effort and lending support to each other, there are no egos and transparency is highly valued.
  • We are an heterogeneous team with multiple nationalities and backgrounds, pushing for getting better, having fun and always asking why (of course).

We are an IRL (in real life) company and as such have worked hard to build up local hubs in our core markets to support in real life collaborations as much as possible. We of course support flexible working patterns but it is our objective to maximise that IRL connection more than remote.

For certain roles, we can help with relocation from anywhere in the world, English is the official language at the office. Please submit your resume in English if you choose to apply. Do not forget to submit an updated portfolio and/or resume.

Perk is a global company with a diverse customer base—and we want to make sure the people behind our product reflect that. We’re an equal opportunity employer, which means you’re welcome at Perk regardless of how you look, where you’re from, or anything else that makes you, well, you.

How We Work
At Perk, we take an IRL-first approach to work, where our team works together in-person 3 days a week. As such, this role requires you to be based within commuting distance of our hubs. We fundamentally believe in the value of meeting in real life to improve connectivity, productivity, creativity and ultimately making us a great place to work.
