Affirm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their Furnishing Platform team to build scalable systems and data pipelines for consumer credit reporting. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams and require expertise in Java and data systems.
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in building scalable systems and data pipelines. Your background includes working with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic outcomes that align with company objectives. You thrive in ambiguous situations, providing clarity and direction to your team as you tackle open-ended problems. Your technical expertise allows you to influence the design of large-scale data and backend systems, ensuring they are scalable and extensible. You are comfortable collaborating with product, compliance, servicing, and credit teams to define robust reporting systems that deliver accurate and timely data.
Experience with consumer credit reporting systems or financial services is a plus. Familiarity with data architecture and backend system design will help you excel in this role. You are a proactive communicator, able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and you enjoy mentoring junior engineers to help them grow.
In this role, you will own and deliver strategic outcomes by driving the definition and delivery of quarterly and long-term goals. You will lead engineers through ambiguity, providing clarity and direction as you shape the architecture and technical strategy of the Furnishing Platform.
