Who you are

You are a seasoned backend engineer with at least 5 years of experience in building production systems. Your expertise lies in PHP and Symfony, and you have a strong understanding of scalable backend systems. You are fluent in German, which is essential for collaborating with the team and understanding user needs in the German market. You have a passion for creating efficient solutions that simplify complex processes, particularly in the realm of payroll and workforce management.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with product teams to deliver impactful features. Your coding practices emphasize writing clean, testable, and maintainable code, and you are familiar with modern development practices. You understand the importance of architecture in building reliable systems and are eager to contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform.

Desirable

Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, is a plus. Familiarity with payroll systems or HR tech is advantageous, as it will help you understand the unique challenges faced by payroll administrators. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies, and you enjoy mentoring junior developers to help them grow in their careers.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining core features of Ordio's SaaS platform. You will design, implement, and optimize scalable backend systems on AWS, ensuring that they integrate seamlessly with existing functionalities. Your work will directly impact the efficiency of payroll processes for blue-collar teams, making their administrative tasks easier and more reliable.

You will collaborate closely with product managers and other engineers to ship impactful features that enhance the user experience. This includes architecting solutions for complex problems in workforce management, time tracking, and scheduling. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team, ensuring that best practices are followed.
