Amazon is hiring a Data Center Technician to troubleshoot and operate electrical and mechanical equipment in their data centers. You'll work with generators, UPSs, and building automation systems in Hilliard, Ohio.
You are a hands-on technician with a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems — you thrive in environments where you can troubleshoot and operate complex equipment. You are comfortable working at heights and in noisy environments, and you can lift and move heavy objects as needed. You possess a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility, which is essential for this role. Your ability to work non-standard hours, including nights and weekends, makes you a reliable team member in a 24/7 operational environment.
As a Data Center Technician at Amazon, you will be the front line responder for hands-on troubleshooting and operation of critical electrical and mechanical equipment. You will operate and maintain emergency generators, electrical switchboards, circuit breakers, UPSs, PDUs, and AHUs. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs, performing limited maintenance tasks such as filter changes and HVAC PMs, and providing support to ensure the smooth operation of the data center. You will also participate in group lifts and work in various physical conditions, demonstrating your commitment to safety and teamwork.
