Deployment engineer

Who are we?

Ema is building the next generation AI technology to empower every employee in the enterprise to be their most creative and productive. Our proprietary tech allows enterprises to delegate most repetitive tasks to Ema, the Universal AI employee. We are founded by ex-Google, Coinbase, Okta executives, and serial entrepreneurs. We’re well-funded by the top investors and angels in the world. Ema is based in Silicon Valley and Bangalore. This will be a hybrid role where we expect employees to work from office three days a week.

Who are you?

As a Deployment Engineer at Ema Unlimited, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth, stable, and secure deployments of our solutions across customer environments. You will work closely with internal DevOps teams and customer stakeholders to manage infrastructure, oversee deployments, and maintain production stability.

You will:

1. Infrastructure Setup

   • Design and provision cloud-based infrastructure (GCP, Azure, AWS) tailored to customer environments.

   • Implement best practices for security, scalability, and compliance.

2. Deployment Management

   • Execute regular on-call SaaS deployments with minimal downtime or disruption.

   • Automate and optimize deployment workflows to ensure efficiency.

3. Production Stability

   • Monitor logs, alerts, and metrics to maintain uptime and meet SLAs (99.9%+ availability).

   • Diagnose and resolve production issues proactively.

4. Observability and Reporting

   • Collaborate with DevOps to enhance monitoring dashboards and alerting frameworks.

   • Deliver actionable insights on system health and performance to stakeholders.

5. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer

   • Maintain updated deployment runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and environment configurations.

   • Facilitate seamless knowledge transfer across teams for smooth handovers.

Ideally, you'd have:

• Experience:

  • 2+ years in DevOps, Infrastructure Setup, or Deployment Engineering roles.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms like GCP, Azure, or AWS.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

  • Proficient in CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.

• Monitoring Tools:

  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk.

• Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.

• Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for seamless interaction with stakeholders.
