Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Test Engineer to develop and execute tests for engines and components. You'll work with National Instruments systems and be responsible for evaluating hardware performance. This role requires hands-on experience in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering with experience in testing hardware performance and survivability during missions. Your expertise includes developing and executing tests at the engine and component level, ensuring that every test campaign is meticulously planned and executed. You are comfortable providing direction to technicians and collaborating with a team to fabricate and integrate test articles and stand equipment. Your familiarity with data acquisition and control systems, particularly those based on National Instruments, allows you to troubleshoot effectively and ensure smooth operations. You thrive in environments where uncertainty is common and embrace the unexpected outcomes that testing can bring. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for developing and maintaining test procedures, sequences, scripts, and configuration files.

Desirable

Experience with fluid and mechanical systems, particularly those involving low to high-pressure gaseous working fluids, is a plus. Familiarity with software development for test procedures and data analysis will enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

As a Test Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for developing and executing tests that support major programs such as Starship, Dragon, Falcon, and Starlink. You will take ownership of test campaigns, which includes creating test plans, activating new systems, and conducting test operations. Your role will involve reviewing data and designing or fabricating test stand equipment to meet the rigorous demands of aerospace testing. You will operate and troubleshoot data acquisition systems, ensuring that all instrumentation is functioning correctly.
