Job Description

Summary/Objective:

The Technical AV Coordinator will be part of the Operations and Pre-Sales Solutions Teams, working closely with the Pre-sales team and Operations Managers in dealing with all requests from new and existing customers, driving excellence throughout the team. Technical coordinators work consists of managing technical details of various production or service aspects including the development, planning, and execution phases of projects. This role offers the opportunity to participate in on-going training and development to keep you up to date with the latest technologies in the Video Conferencing and AV market.

Core duties and Objectives

There is an expectation for the Technical AV Coordinator to communicate effectively and efficiently as he must work as a liaison between other departments and employees to ensure that everyone is on the same page. The coordinator must be up to date with day-to-day logistics and installations and must bring support to the operations team for purposes of the execution of new and existing projects’ logistics, administration and technical service level support.

The Coordination will have clear communication with management and staff across various regions by regularly participating in meetings with departments to ensure efficient operation of service level standards. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting the managing of the technical daily operations ensuring completion of projects and site jobs are successfully and efficiently executed within the means of the detailed task schedule, resource allocation and cost breakdown assigned by planning team. You will play a key part in ensuring that the high quality of our client-based service is maintained and improved to deliver world leading complex projects (Quality control).

As a Technical AV Coordinator, they shall act as role models to the teams. They shall display assertiveness and act as an example when it comes to client satisfaction. The coordinator shall possess extensive technical knowledge and of web-based video conferencing platforms, as well as experience with remote client relations which will be the keys to succeed in a remote support environment. They shall possess advanced communication and leadership abilities. They shall display confidence and the ability to work with large teams of people. They should be detail focused, with powerful problem-solving abilities.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

In this position you will be required to:

  • Utilize your AV engineering skills and technical knowledge to oversee customer requests and ensure that expectations are met. Act as AV technical point of contact for implementation and design activities with customers and onsite staff as requested, coordinating the projects in the AMERICAS region.
  • Technical skills and understanding of VC solutions and IT network infrastructures.
  • Responsible for technical assistance on RFQs based on surveys and designs, involvement in procurement of hardware, and approval of BOMs.
  • Accountable for coordination of project plan as represented in the overall project plan.
  • Where applicable provide technical governance for client’s plans regarding installation and configuration of a wide range of VC and AV solutions, dealing directly with the customer on requests.
  • Site surveys and commissioning projects will form part of this role, involving some travel to client sites.
  • Coordinate and track project progress and schedules.
  • Assemble, draft, edit, and review reports, customer quotes, and technical documents.
  • Work directly with global partners on procurement and account management.

Requirements: Education, Training and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Technical knowledge and proven experience of VC and AV industry brands.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Audio Visual and Video Collaboration industry
  • Platform / brand experience: Zoom, MS Teams, Google, Extron, Crestron, Shure, AMX, Biamp
  • Knowledge and understanding of IT industry environment and business needs
  • Assertive with client satisfaction orientation
  • Demonstrate good team leadership, motivation ability and business acumen
  • Advanced verbal and written communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong business acumen and good understanding of general technology concepts
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain positive working relationships with both internal teams and external customer
    • Innovative, with the ability to implement problem solving initiatives.
    • Flexibility regarding working hours and willing to travel when needed.
    • High level of professionalism and customer awareness
    • Must be available to be on-call for infrequent after-hours emergencies
    • Contributes sensible, realistic, and practical solutions to problems
    • Strong initiative and leadership to take on new projects and a desire to identify ways to contribute
    • Good understanding of trends within the AV industry, stays abreast of competing markets

    Travel: Flexibility and the ability to travel is an essential part of this role.
