Who you are

You have a strong background in hardware development, particularly in avionics, and are skilled in designing automated hardware systems that validate electronic flight hardware. Your experience includes designing PCBA's to interface with flight hardware and ensuring sufficient design-for-test (DFT) principles are applied. You are proficient in writing software in Python to control bench equipment and devices under test, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can provide valuable feedback to design teams throughout the qualification and acceptance process.

You understand the complexities of avionics systems and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all hardware meets stringent requirements for performance and reliability. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams allows you to contribute to the success of projects and drive innovation in hardware testing methodologies. You are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, recognizing that varied perspectives enhance team strength.

Desirable

What you'll do

As an Avionics Test Hardware Development Engineer at Astranis, you will be responsible for developing and designing automated hardware that tests our flight designs, ensuring they function correctly for missions in space. You will design PCBA's that interface with flight hardware, reviewing all avionics flight hardware to ensure they meet the necessary design-for-test standards. Your role will involve writing software in Python to control bench equipment and devices under test, which is critical for validating the performance of our hardware.

You will work closely with the design team, providing feedback and insights throughout the qualification and acceptance process. This collaboration is essential to ensure that the hardware meets the high standards required for space missions. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during testing, contributing to the continuous improvement of our hardware development processes.
