Staff Accountant

As our Staff Accountant, you will support the finance and accounting teams in critical analyses of financial activities as well as timely and accurate financial reporting and close processes. This role offers a tremendous opportunity to gain experience within a growing company (and small Finance team) and have exposure to VTS leadership.

To thrive in this role you must have a positive attitude and are highly motivated to learn and grow within a fast-paced, deadline-driven organization. You must also have a strong accounting background, including working knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (“U.S. GAAP”), SEC regulations, and internal controls within a subscription-based company.

Here’s what you can expect as a Staff Accountant:

• Lead key components of the month-end close including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and financial statement analysis
• Participate in streamlining and process improvement projects, enhancing the internal controls over accounting systems, processes, metrics, and financial reporting 
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring transactions are properly reflected and in accordance with U.S. GAAP 
• Prepare supporting schedules for internal analysis and for external auditors (PBC) during annual audits 
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Operations, Tax and Business leaders
  
  

What Makes You a Great Fit?

• A minimum of 2-3 years experience in public/private accounting (CPA preferred); SAAS experience a plus
• Strong attention to detail and analytical/problem solving skills
• Comfortable working in a startup environment with evolving processes and roles 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork
• Experience working with Excel and ERPs (Netsuite a plus)
