SpaceX is hiring an Electrical Engineer to support the design engineer community towards higher reliability systems. You'll evaluate new and existing parts for high reliability and communicate with suppliers. This role requires expertise in electrical components and reliability assessment.
You have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in evaluating components for reliability in high-stakes environments. Your ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and design engineers is crucial, as you will be responsible for ensuring the use of reliable components in new designs. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive quick decisions for reliability mitigation. Your hands-on lab analysis skills enable you to assess components effectively, ensuring they meet the high standards required by SpaceX.
Experience with commercial electronics and familiarity with the aerospace industry would be advantageous. You are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to identify and track part change notifications and new part requests efficiently. Your proactive approach to problem-solving and risk mitigation will contribute significantly to the success of the projects you work on.
As an EEE Components Engineer at SpaceX, you will play a critical role in supporting the design engineer community. You will identify, track, communicate, and disposition part change notifications and new part requests, ensuring that all components used in designs are reliable. You will review bills of materials for new designs, collaborating with design engineers to select the best components for high reliability. Your role will also involve supporting Starlink EEE part reliability issues, driving risk mitigation efforts towards closure.
You will engage with external third parties, such as component manufacturers and test labs, to acquire outsourcing work and schedule data reviews. Your ability to interface with supply chain, design engineers, and production/manufacturing teams will be essential in executing dimensional analyses and ensuring that all components meet the required specifications. You will be responsible for driving work towards closure, bringing appropriate groups together to make quick decisions that impact all stages of design and production.
